Common error messages
This page lists the most common error messages you may encounter and what they mean.
Authentication errors
"Invalid session" / "Failed to authenticate"
Your Microsoft authentication token has expired. Remove the account from your dashboard and re-authenticate.
"Account does not own Minecraft"
The Microsoft account you signed in with does not have a Minecraft Java Edition license. Make sure you use the correct Microsoft account.
Connection errors
"Connection refused"
The server is not accepting connections. It may be offline, restarting, or the address/port is wrong. Double-check the server address and try again later.
"Connection timed out"
The server did not respond within the timeout window. This usually means the server is unreachable, the port is blocked, or there is a network issue between MinecraftAfkBots and the server.
"Protocol error" / "Unsupported protocol version"
The server is running a Minecraft version that does not match the auto-detected version. Try manually setting the version in your account settings. See supported versions.
"Disconnected" (no reason)
A generic disconnect with no specific reason. This can be caused by network instability, server-side timeouts, or the server closing the connection. Enable auto reconnect to recover automatically.
Server-specific errors
"You are not whitelisted"
The server requires whitelist approval. You need to apply through the server's website or application process before connecting.
"Kicked for flying" / "Moved too quickly"
The server's anti-cheat flagged your bot's movement. This can happen due to latency spikes. Try reducing anti-AFK movement frequency or using a proxy closer to the server.
"Too many connections from your IP"
You are exceeding the server's per-IP connection limit. Use proxies to distribute your accounts across different IPs.
Proxy errors
"Proxy connection failed"
MinecraftAfkBots cannot reach the proxy server. The proxy may be offline, the address/port may be wrong, or the proxy credentials are incorrect. Test with a different proxy or remove it to connect directly.
"Proxy authentication failed"
The username or password for your proxy is wrong. Double-check the credentials with your proxy provider.
