Server settings explained
When you create a new bot in MinecraftAfkBots, you will see a number of connection settings. This page explains each one so you can configure your bot correctly for any server.
Server Address
The hostname or IP of the Minecraft server you want to connect to. This is the same address you would type into the Minecraft multiplayer menu. For example: play.hypixel.net or 2b2t.org.
Port
The port number the server is running on. Most Java servers use the default port 25565. If the server uses a custom port, the owner will usually tell you (e.g. play.example.com:25566). Leave this blank to use the default.
Minecraft Version
The protocol version your bot will use to connect. MinecraftAfkBots supports versions from 1.8 through 1.21.x. Most servers advertise the version they accept. If unsure, try the latest version first.
Tip:Some servers accept multiple versions. If you get a version mismatch error, try one version lower or check the server's website.
Online Mode (Authentication)
When enabled (default), the bot authenticates with your Microsoft account through Mojang's servers, just like the real game client. Most public servers require this. Disable it only for offline-mode (cracked) servers.
Warning:Only disable online mode if the server you are connecting to explicitly supports offline/cracked mode. Connecting with online mode off to a legitimate server will always fail.
View Distance
How many chunks the bot requests from the server. A lower value (2-4) reduces bandwidth and memory usage. A higher value (8-16) lets the bot'viewer see more of the world. For simple AFK, set this to 2 to minimize resource usage.
Auto Reconnect
When enabled, the bot will automatically attempt to reconnect after being disconnected. You can configure the delay between reconnect attempts. See Auto reconnect for details.
Chat Signing
Minecraft 1.19.1+ introduced chat message signing. Some servers enforce this. If you see a signing-related error, enable this setting. Note that it requires online mode to be on.
Note:If you are not sure what to set, the defaults will work for the vast majority of servers. Only change settings if you have a specific reason.
